Postby Sparrow » Wed Jan 03, 2007 4:28 am

I Just Installed mx Google Sitemaps v1.0.1
and i don't have any Prior Experience on sitemaps

So Just wondering if anyone could tell me if it is OK or not
here is the link : http://www.dezibeatz.com/sitemap.php

Now What should i do should i just have to submit this to google sitemaps
Or do i have to do anything else besides that like resubmitting new sitemaps
every month\week
Please forgive me If i am being stupid

Anyway to my astonishment when i tried to register with this email id
dezibeatz<at>gmail.com the board said this email id was banned
Can the admin calrify as to why it was banned :(

Also I read somewhere that google accepts XML sitemaps
then isnt this subforum.php a problem ??

Anyway I Am waiting for a reply then only I will submit this Feed

Also I would like to have a bit help tp determin if my robots.txt file has anything wrong in it

And welcome :D

The ban thing was caused by reg-ex not strict enough, was not your email to be banned, but your case was matching a ban rule. Anyway, should be fixed now.

Your sitemap is just perfect. You can submit it to your Google account.
The submission is a one time thing, Google will crawl your sitemaps by itself, and they'll stay up to date by themselves, so once done, you do not have anything to do, besides checking you Google stats ;)

There is no problem with sub forums, the module will list them as well.

Then, you'll may want to go a bit further with URL rewriting. We here propose three levels of URL rewriting for phpBB. All compatible with the other phpBB SEO mods and modules.

As we're pretty close to release an update, you can as well wait a bit for the release (matter of one or two weeks now) before you start to install.

I See Ok What is the Diference ?
Does making the extenson to .html from php make a difference ?
Does it increase Google Crawling ?

I Was Skimming around here an i found this term "phpBB vanilla"

What is It ?

Anyway Currently I am using the no guest sessions mod by Cyber Alien
I am ready to Experiment new things if it would benefit my crawl rate

And there is also a problem look at this
http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&lr=& ... tnG=Search

and this :
http://search.yahoo.com/search?p=site%3Adezibeatz.com

I Have only 1 listing in google
While i have 500+ in Yahoo and if i change the URLs using Mod rewrite
wouldn't that listing be lost ?

And If you are going to release a new version soon should i wait and install iit first and then submit my sitemap ?

Also is my robots.txt good ?
it is in the root

Yes your robots.txt is good for unrewritten URLs.

Vanilla is used to talk about unmodded phpBB. A vanilla phpBB is the one you'd get at phpBB.com, the original script.

By extend, vanilla URLs are the original ones in phpBB : viewtopic.php?p=xx etc ...

Then, when you say you've got only one listing in Google, it looks like quite a massive update is to be waited for, because on the DC I catch up performing the query from France, I get 1900 pages listed

In the listing, we can see quite some URLs with SIDs, and many clean topic URLs, did you submit the Google sitemap and when ? Because this could come from it.

Anyway, about migrating to mod rewritten URLs I advise you to wait a bit until we release the updates, you'll be able to migrate without loosing you current indexing, thanks to the zero dupe http 301 redirections.

Should be a matter of one week or so.

This is all what i see :
http://img361.imageshack.us/img361/1717/1xd0.png

Can you show me what you see ?

Anyways i think i did submit a goole map that wasnt this mod someother mod
from phpBB.com
but it want working because all my forums were protected (login required)
So i removed it within 2 to 3 days

but that was like 10 months ago i think

then abt 1~2 months ago i made my website open for public access
and used the guest session removal hoping google would spider
but everyday i see only this listing not even a single page

Btw what is a DC ?
Code: Select all
because on the DC I catch up

Ok so I should wait for a week and then do the mod rewrite and (do i have to edit the curent sitemap aswell ?)

Ok so i will only be providing the feeds after you release the new version !! :D

DC stands for Data Center.

The Google search system is not centralized. There are many DCs hosting the data's that are queried for when performing a search in Google.

The thing is, these are most of the time synchronized, but, and it seems we're going to soon see it, they are not all synchronized during an update (Google Dance). Some already have the updated data's, other don't yet (this cannot be instant as Google is dealing will billions pages).

So it looks like the DC hit while searching from France is not the same as when you do search from where you are.

And you should be able to see the same listing as I do in couple days. Unfortunately, I am currently unable to post a screen capture, but I do get the same result as yesterday, but you should be able to see the same results as I do if you try this one : http://216.239.37.101/search?q=site%3Awww.dezibeatz.com (naming the DC's IP should force it's use, but it depends as well on the geoloc they perform).

WooooooooooooooooooooooooHoooooooooooooooooooooooo

Thats Just Great I am Soooo Happy

I am down with doing SEO in my forum

I yesterday removed the viewtwopic and viewforum from the headers of viewtopic.php and
viewforum.php
and also removed that "Index" from header of index page by removing it from the lang_main.php file

I think it will help a lil !!

I wonder how you removed even your domain name from viewforum and viewtopic
