Author's Notes :

Search Engine Optimized (SEO) And User-Friendly Sitemap Solution for phpBB and mxBB Portal.

It will create a Site Map Index, a paginated mxBB Portal Page's list (if installed), a Forum Map listing forums (Linked through their description) and One Paginated Map per forum (Linked in the Forum Map), listing Topics.

Sitemap Mod Integration (S2B ~ http://www.s2b-project.de)
Allow to add as many links as you want on the Site Map Index Page directly from ACP.
This functionality makes the use of the db_install.php necessary because the sitemap index tables will be created individually for all installed languages.
If you want to add a new language to your board, you have to add the language manually by executing this query (be careful about which table prefix you are using) :

For phpBB :

Where "<new language>" has to be replaced with the name of the language (e.g. German, English).

Many powerful SEO feature such as the possibility to list last active topics on each type of Maps and Pagination Handling as well as User-friendly interface, allowing to output marked topics like in phpBB and new post since last visit.

Everything is ACP configurable, allowing fine tuning of the hole system and to exactly decide what to output on each type of pages : Last Active Topics, Viewonline and Log in.

All content is outputted following the phpBB AUTH settings, meaning everybody is going to see the links he should.

phpBB SEO mod rewrite 0.2.x are auto detected.
Settings for other mod rewrite standards (Webmedic's rewrite mod, able2know rewrite mod, GoogleBB Links) can now be done easily, simply editing a file.

One Site Map Index :
Site Map Index is configurable, you can create categories and add local or external links in ACP.

Running mxBB gives you an extra option in ACP, the Standalone Mode.
You can use this site map like any mxbb module or choose to run it outside of the portal. It's one or the other, going for Standalone will allow you to activate mod Rewrite for Sitemaps in ACP and will save some server ressources.

You will also be able to add the who is online stats on maps, the login box will auto show up the same way it does on the forum index.

To enable the Standalone Mode, you must 1) move the sitemaps.php file from modules/mx_sitemaps/
to your portal's root and 2) Enable the option in ACP.

One Forum Map :
Listing all forums the current user has the right to view and read.
The list provides links to each of the forum Maps as well as to each forum, using the forum description as the text link.
Last Active Topic can also be set up to be shown here.

One Map per Forum :
Paginated Listing of each forum's topics. The pagination limit is configurable in ACP.

Warning :

You will need the phpBB SEO mod rewrite 0.2.4 and above in case you are using on of the phpBB SEO mod rewrites.

Note This demo is using mxBB and is a bit different on this site. The phpBB SEO multiforum set up was here added in the module. The standard version will of course only list one forum.

Here is what you will see ACP side. Note that in this example, mx Google Sitemaps is not Installed, the mx Sitemaps module will only use and install the SiteMaps and SitemapIndex menus. The Google SiteMaps menu will show up in the same menu category if installed.

Note : An extra option shows up while runnig mxBB Portal, allowing the sitemaps to run Standalone.

mx Sitemaps

This module will build several Sitemaps for your site.
It creates one Sitemap Index, One Forum Index Map and on Map per forum listing links to topics.
SEO and Users Friendly, it will follow everyone's authorizations and mark new topics, if the option is activated, the same way phpBB does.
You have to configure your Site Map Index using the "SitemapIndex" ACP Menu.

General Sttings
Topic Pagination Here you can choose how many topics per page will be outputted in each forum Maps. This allow to choose differents values for phpBB and the Sitemaps.
User Friendly Here you can choose to calculate new posts since last visit, for logged users, and topic types (announce, post-it ...). New post will be marked the same way phpBB does. Adds one sql query.	Yes   No
New Posts Age By default, phpBB is selecting all new messages since user's last visit and limits it to 60 days old. This can be way to much for active forums. Here you can set up the Age limit to search for in days when calculating the new post list in this module.
Last Active Topics
Sitemap Index Will add a nice Last Active Topics list on the Sitemap Index. Adds 3 sql queries.	Yes   No
Topics on Sitemap Index Limit the number of Last Active Topics outputted on the Sitemap Index. Apply if the output is activated.
Forum Index Map Will add a nice Last Active Topics list on the Forum Index Map. Adds 1 sql query.	Yes   No
Topics on Forum Maps Limit the number of Last Active Topics outputted on the Forum Maps. It will be used as his on the Forum Index Map and limited to Topics Pagination in Forums Maps. Apply if the output is activated.

Advanced Settings
Mod rewrite for Sitemaps If activated, the Sitemap's url will be rewritten. They will look like "forum-map-xx.html". CAUTION : you MUST run Apache server with mod rewrite activated and set up the .htaccess located in this release's contrib/ folder properly. NOTE : This will only affect the sitemaps url provided in the sitemap index. Only apply in Standalone Mode for mxBB Portal. For more information about this option, meet us @ phpBB SEO	Yes   No
