If you've got some newsworth stories or articles on your site try submitting to Digg or Stumbleupon - but again, avoid submitting if it's not realisticly good content.

Submitting to Digg is never a bad idea because it's not going to hurt. If your article isn't the greatest you can do but you still submit it to digg, it's not going to hurt. This is especially true for blogs. There is absolutely no harm in submitting a mediocre article to digg other than the fact that you might not get very many diggs.
Getting out of Google's sandbox takes time and there is no quick way to get in. They do that for a reason. If there was a quick and easy way to get in then Google just wouldn't be a good search engine.
