I dont want any of the pages to be blocked from the Search Engines. Do i need to place a blank robots.txt file

Please do not manually add a signature, you'll have one soon ;)

So no, you don't need any robots.txt file if you do not wish to disallow anything on your web-site. Default is to spider all.

There are no need to place a blank robots.txt file.The spider will autometically crawl all pages.
