I've got content, one url and some backlinks. But because I operate in a language other then english it's much harder to get the backlinks from sites with similar content (which aren't direct competitors). A seo collegue checked the website and said my links, my html and my webstructure is okay, but I need more authoritive backlinks.

But I don't know how yet. Because my forum doesn't have backlinks and no problems getting high in the serp's.

How is the hard part with getting backlinks. First solution is still to submit your site in many good directories. Then, if the most related site you can think of for exchanging links are competitors, you should still be able to find site that are still related but that do not compete with you directly.
For example, if you where talking about where to go for camping, you could set up partnership with camping stores, or with websites of cities where camping is well developed.

An update after a couple of months. At this time the traffic is getting better. can see some of the pages are performing better then they did before i changed the website url structure. But i lost some important ranking on some specific keywords. I hope this will change over time.

Some other question?
Do you even cooperate with other websites to get more backlinks? Or spread press releases to promote links? Or social networks?

I don't think social network can help, it can only bring traffic I think.

Vast topic, but to keep it short, whatever can be done to obtain good and relevant backlinks is good.
The hard part is to do with what you have in hands, can be time, can be friends, can be online communities, can be money ...
The important to me is to keep in mind the long run and to prefer regularity over temporary boost.
Of course, since relevancy is and will be more and more important, cooperating with related sites is very important.
The difficulty about this is when you're in a competitive field, when directly related sites are competitors. But usually, it's possible to find some related sites that are not doing the same business. For example, if you where to sell outdoor equipment, you should be able to manage some link exchange with let's say campsites having a web site, or even hotels in mountains and etc ...
Directories are good too, since it's an easy way to get backlinks on a regular basis, but directories should not be your only source of backlinks.

And of course, backlink building is (well, should be) a never ending process.

BackLinks is the most important thing in seo.

I knew a site with a bad tittle and bad keywords but since he had a software that every body needed people were building back links for him making his site one of the top phpbb sites ever. it was more popular then phpbb it self :D . Every gamer knew about it the famous cheatengine

So theres alot of tricks in seo As the admin said people make money from seo, why should they share there seo knowledge>> when you are born you are born with no knowledge some body have to teach you everything.
People that make money from seo are selfish.

here a trick i learn.

Here it is.
First you should notice what type of site you have like games or news etc.
Go to alexa and search for top sites then click category. click your category.
Then go to each site and make a post with your site url to build a good back links. or in you account ucp post your site url.

you need sites that will give you good back links

Here, it's the opposite, we make no money out of sharing everything
More seriously, I truly think that no one should be afraid of sharing an SEO technique, because there is no such trick as add ths line of code in your page and get ranked first on all search engines.
SEO is hard and long term work, and the most part of a site's success is content, not SEO. And sharing thoughts and tricks is a great way to learn, since doing so everyone will find out that this secret trick of his was not so good and that this over one shared by another is a good one, and without anyone jeopardizing its site's success, since again, it all goes down to content quality in the end, not SEO. SEO can only make it happen faster.

And this is even more true when you don't have a lot of money to waist testing paid solutions around.

Then talking about the trick you mentioned, I find this pretty close to organized spam. Of course, it's always good to get involved in related communities / websites, but this is playing with the gray zone. I mean, it's ok if you truly participate, but I personally do not appreciate people posting a single post with a link to their website. We on phpBB SEO consider this as spamming.
On the other hand of course, phpBB SEO users which participate do get pretty good backlinks. And the backlinks are even better if the page is viewed a lot, meaning if you did put some interesting (thus true) content in it.

Ultimately, do not forget that other search engines are as well good to study your niche and find out about related websites, alexa does not have such a big index.

Just don't forget about the new data on Google and Comment Spam. Although the Google press release or blog post only mentions comments on blogs, my guess is they are also paying attention to people who make 1 post on a forum with several backlinks. In the long run, those type of backlinks will actually hurt your site....

Best to find a forum/website that has the authority for the keywords your targeting and get involved in the discussion/site. Not only will you probably learn a lot about the keyword but the backlinks will also come and probably look much more legit than a single comment spam.
