What can i do to increase the traffic of my board?

In the last months i could nearly double the traffic of my board. Now i have between 28.000 and 30.000 unique visitors per month. But: in the last two month my traffic stagnates at round about 1000 uniques per day.

What i have done so far to increase my traffic?

1. i installed the full seo-pack
2. i placed my board at many directorys to get backlinks
3. i placed my rss at many rss-directorys to get more backlinks
4. i placed my board to twitter (to get which result? i don't know *gg*)
5. i placed my board to other dog-related boards to get more backlinks

What could i do more?

What do you do?

And: how do i optimize a board to one or more keywords? I mean ... at a static site i can optimize the content but on a dynamic forum?

That's already pretty good to have doubled your visitors thanks to your SEO efforts. Though, it's normal if the growth goes down a bit after this.

From now on starts the real hard part. Content and getting new users will be the main way to get more traffic. Once all your current pages are well placed in SERP, you need more pages, to have more SERPS, more services to offer to your users for them to re visit more, and more adds and good backlinks to catch more new users.

And you have to consider the marketing part too, you may have reached your niche limit as far as providing with daily visitors, the point where only the growth of the niche could make a difference.

This is my golden goal ... to get well placed pages.

At this moment i have round about 23.000 oages in the serps (http://www.google.de/#hl=de&source=hp&q ... f176a7d8ac).

And now i'm on a point, where i don't know how to improve my ranking

I have the same problem with the original post and I've like also to ask if the no-follow links can add juice or can add traffic to my site?

nofollow should not make such difference since google is moderating them due to abuse (pagerank sculpting).
