hi,
Link Wheel concept was introduced by Linus Rylander. In his words, basically, LinkWheel is a set of SIX Web 2.0 properties interlinked in a “wheel” structure, all promoting a page on the web which is the focus of that particular “wheel”.

The most simple wheel have six properties up, and each contains a link to the “focus hub” (your money site) AND its 'neighbor' as you can see in the image above, the arrows representing links.

I have created a diagram to make it easier for you to understand:

thanks for sharing

It's a good way to gain some links
But theres no magic in it just like there is no magic in any method or in SEO

Give something a new name and people think its new.. People have been developing link networks, that's what a 'link wheel' is. For a very long time.. The trick to doing it properly, and the part that so many people fail at, is making it look natural and legitimate.. Instead of just another link farm

"Wheel" is nothing but a circular constraint. In SEO it's nothing but a circular technique to get tons of traffic for your website's main page by relating one topic with another in a chain system. It also boosts your SERP ranking in this way. :D

A link wheel is basically a group of links from highly ranked websites that in the end link back to your website. It is developed by using a Web 2.0 site like Hubpages, Squidoo Lens and more along with other things that produce “do follow” links.

I suppose that you are talking about Link wheels of 50-100-200...10000 links automatically submitted on good Page
Rank forums with your account on each of them with 3 anchor text in your sign.
One of this anchor text is linking to your web while another two are linking to 2
another forums where, also, is open your account with same rules. 3 links are in sign...one
is linking on your page..and another 2 on another 2 different forums where, of course ;)
is your another account.
It's result with 50 different forums on different domains with good page rank
that are all connected between them and each of them is pointing to your page.
Of course...it's difficult to make something like this manually and
guys that are making business "constructing" wheels are, usually, using
program called "Xrumer" which automatically can open account on many
forums.
When they finish the job, they send you list of forums where they open you a account
with password and user name so that you can keep going posting (if you want)
on this forums leaving after every post, link to your web and 2 links on another accounts.
As I could notice...few days after generating wheel...your web page can make
good result on SERP with keyword that you used in wheel...but ...after few weeks-month
your web page will be on the same position as before. So..or not to using it...or making
wheel every 2 weeks....But no one know what surprise google algorithm is preparing
for tomorrow...and maybe it can, somehow, damage your SEO.
Not shure, as a newbee, if I can publish links here...but, if someone want to know
how it looks like...see this page and check (follow) the links in sign
