Hello I want to know if the "website" field im the profile of Phpbb forums generate backlinks to your site even if the site is not written in the post.
If yes, to generate this backlink is necessary to send messages or just being registered?

In forums the most popular way of generating back links is my putting a link in your signature. Be sure to use your target keywords in your anchor text as this will help. Some forums ask you to have a certain number of posts before you add links in your signature so make sure you read the forum rules first.

Keep in mind that in general bots are denied access to the memberlist & userprofiles. lizatailor23's method will work, using tools like SearchStatus one can make sure the links aren't nofollow. A way to make it more effektive is to check which subforums have (higher) pagerank, in bigger forums even some long and older threads can have a PR of 1-2.

I also using the phpbb forums links for profile links and forums comments.Its very useful information for me.It will helpful for me.

why peoples post new thread in forum if the reason its not because of backlink I am sure peoples will leave forum that not allow signature big forum such as DP or wariorr or any other forum that allow signatures usually that kind of forum will get so many traffics and make money by it self ! and as far as I know usually Google will punish forums that have small outbound link and google will mark that forum as traffics holder

I just wrote my first comment after editing my signature, but it does not show my signature over there? can anyone please help me on that?
