topic title doesn't update if 1st post title changes

Hi, if a new topic is created, the topic's title will be the title of it's 1st post by default. If I change the 1st post's title, the topic title shown on viewforum do not change and also the title-injected URLs remain the old ones. The same happens with the topic title which is displayed one more t...

I had just the same 404 error caused by the combination of Advanced SEO with the I.E.7 error-fix of IPR-MOD on http://www.phpbb.com/community/viewtopic.php?f=69&t=584852 . Replacing if (($pos = strrpos($redirect_url, '#')) !== false) { $redirect_url = substr_replace&...

Broken Links after data manipulation?

Hi again :) Even after a weekend of reading I'm still a bit confused as http://www.phpbb-seo.com/boards/advanced-seo-url/discussions-vt3363.html : Old posted links will still work and properly be redirected, and all the dynamic links will instantly use the new url. seems to contradict http://www.php...

RSS Module - Display latest posts on foreign html-site?

Hi, latest posts of our phpBB2-board are displayed on several foreign html websites by the topics_anywhere MOD, which generates the necessary code for foreign webmasters and provides them options on which posts to display and how. Before switching to phpBB3 I surely need a replacement for this funct...

Sorry for the ambiguity.
With "back to normal" I meant the possibility of the test board to return to it's original un-SEOed phpBB-URLs after testing all the rewrite options.

Re: Going SEO with phpBB3 new install

Hi again :) it took us an awful lot of time to adapt design, structure and code of the meanwhile phpBB3.0.2 pre-modded forum which is running on beta test now with a robot.txt which should exclude all SE. Can I switch and play with the various options of URL rewriting & virtual folder under thes...

Advanced & virtual folder to categorize and to keyword

Hi, ... With a good topic title average quality, advanced SEO URL is the most powerful mod. If phpBB is installed in the domain's root, activating the virtual folder trick can help out to categorize content and to associate all topics within a forum with selected keywords... I actually consider a ro...

Hi,
even though keywords are not too important, the obvious irrelevance of the generated keywords is striking with the actual set up.

Maybe a "light" compromise would be to exclude all words below a certain length, like 4-6 letters?

How could this be done?

I wished there was - have been searching for this possibilty as well, so far without success.
All my work around with forum links and additional forum categories create a necessary extra-click.

If you find a solution, please post it here.

I was using FF2 with some common developper-plugins installed. I haven't noticed that behavior ever before. There is no special firewall in place and no cache I would be aware of. If memory serves me well, I already had the other thread opened in another tab for later reading, when it opened two mor...

Thank you dcz, I really appreciate your detailed answers to all of my questions. :) For the time being I have three more: - Is the advised SID-removal (Cyber Alien) tweak still necessary in phpBB3, is it integrated in the premod? I couldn't find any adaptation of it for phpBB3. - HB wrote in another...

Request or suggestion: Next topic's title

Hi, there was a mod for phpBB2 which replaced the two links view previous topic :: view next topic with a centred <-- previous topic's title - next topic's title --> which certainly helped users and I reckon SEO-wise as well: In most of the cases both topic titles have something in common, are proba...
