Well, I managed to answer my own question! Maybe this will help someone else:

Just add a RewriteCond to the rule:

RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} !^.*forums.*$
RewriteRule ^(.*).html$ $1.php

If any knows a better way to do this let me know!!

The Directory - Mod or custom?

Is the directory a mod, or was it custom built by you? I have a forum(travel and tourism related) and had programmed my own php directory, but would much rather have it integrated in the forum as you have.
